Tizen, the Linux-based open-source OS and successor to Intel and Nokia‘s MeeGo platform is nearing its market introduction. The OS has received a full backing of South Korean electronics giant Samsung, who visions Tizen as an alternative to Google’s Android. The company is even planning to merge its proprietary OS Bada, which it uses in a few phones, with Tizen. We could see more on this at Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona, later in the month. But we’re not talking about all these today. Today, we’re going to show you how to run “StarCraft: Brood War” game in the Tizen smartphone emulator.
What you need:
- Tizen Emulator (x86)
- Wine porting to Tizen
- A PC
Tutorial:
- Launch Wine in Tizen Emulator (x86)
- In your Emulator terminal, type the command ./sdb devices and hit enter
- Repeat the above step until the attached device isn’t listed as Offline
- Once your attached device is listed, type the command ./sdb shell “wine ~/brood/StarCraft.exe” and hit enter
- Wait till the game launches
- Select “Single Player”
- Select from “pre-registered game IDs” or create a new ID.
- Enjoy the game
Its pretty much straight forward, isn’t it? You can even rotate the game orientation or re-scale the game screen size. Here’s how.
- Right-click your mouse button anywhere in the emulator screen apart from the game screen
- Select “Advanced” -> “Rotate/ Scale” and choose your desired options
How to exit the game
To exit the game, right-click your mouse button within the game screen and then select “Exit Program.”
