Samsung has now officially increased the number of Samsung devices which are compatible with its new Gear 2 / Gear 2 Neo and Gear Fit wearables to 20. It has to be noted that these are still all Samsung’s own devices, which not only includes Smartphones, but also includes tablets. Altogether there are 12 smartphones including the Samsung Galaxy S5, S4, S3, Note 3 and Note 2, through to the Galaxy Grand and Mega range.
This current increase of device compatibility does help its Smartwatch appeal to it’s current Samsung fan base, but Android users with non-Samsung devices are still left wanting. In a recent Interview Yoon Han-kil, senior vice president of Samsung’s product strategy team, he stated that Gear 2 / Gear 2 Neo devices would also eventually be compatible with Android devices from other manufacturers. Eventually can never be seen as an attractive word. Below is the full list as of now:
