It looks like the rollout of Tizen version 2.2.0 has begun for the Original Samsung Galaxy Gear, which previously ran a cut-down version of Android. This is great news for the Tizen Gear ecosystem, as now Gear Smart watch developers only need to target one Operating System.
Users will notice improvements in performance and battery life, and additional features like the standalone music player, which you can store music locally on the watch, great for fitness guys (and girls). Other features include customizable shortcuts for tap input, voice commands in the camera etc.
You can update via Samsung kies desktop software or you can download the update file manually from Sammobile, you have to search for the model number SM-V700. There is no news at of any Over the Air (OTA) updates at the moment.
